Former top US official asks KPs to focus on education

The displaced Kashmiri Pandits should lay focus on the education and economic growth for development of their community, former US Assistant Secretary Treasury Neel Kashkari said today.

Neel was speaking from America at the live interaction organised by the community Radio Sharda 90.4 FM for Kashmiri Displaced People.

He is currently a contestant for the Governor post of California.

The 90 minutes Interaction was organised by Kashmiri Overseas Association (KOA) in collaboration with Radio Sharda.

The Purpose for arranging this interaction for Displaced Kashmiri diaspora around the globe was to arm the community with valuable guidance to face challenges in wake of the displacement and attract the intellectuals and industrialists towards creation of Sharda Peeth University.
 

Earlier in his address, the President Kashmir Overseas Association (KOA) Surender Koul, laid emphasis on the importance of education in KP community and said the Valley was called as Sharda Peeth --an institution of higher studies, and the Kashmiri Pandits have made a great contribution in every field of life from last 5000 years.

Having become famous in short span of over-a-year existence, 'Sharda' is the first community based radio for the Kashmiri pandits based in Jammu.
