Former TTFI president Rangaramanujan passes away

Former Table Tennis Federation of India (TTFI) T D Rangaramanujan passed away early morning today due to age related ailments.

He was 96 and is survived by his wife and five children.

An able sports administator, Rangaramanujan breathed his last at around 12.10 am in the morning at his Hyderabad home.

He was suffering from lung related problems and was recently treated at a private hospital, his son Ramdas Ramanujan informed.

Rangaramanujan was associated with table tennis for nearly five decades and was the founding President of Commonwealth Table Tennis Federation.

He was also honorary life President of International Table Tennis Federation.
 

Rangaramanujan, who hailed from Tamil Nadu, had played a pivotal role in organising of major table tennis events such as Asian Table Tennis Championships and Delhi Asian Games in 1951.
