Fortis Q2 net loss at Rs 58 crore; CEO's resignation accepted

Consolidated total income of the company stood at Rs 1,031.20 crore for the quarter under consideration

Fortis Healthcare today reported a consolidated net loss of Rs 58.12 crore for the quarter ended September.

The company had posted a net profit after taxes, minority interest and share of profit of associates at Rs 32.06 crore for the corresponding period of the previous fiscal, Fortis Healthcare said in a statement.

Consolidated total income of the company stood at Rs 1,031.20 crore for the quarter under consideration as against Rs 1,282.46 crore for the same period a year ago, it added.

"The reported results for Q2 FY15 are not comparable to the corresponding previous period due to progressive divestments of the company's international businesses namely Fortis Hoan My, Vietnam and Quality Healthcare, Hong Kong during the course of FY14," Fortis Healthcare said.
 

In another filing to the BSE, the company said its board has accepted the resignation of Aditya Vij, Chief Executive Officer of the company who would be leaving the firm by year-end and entrusted Shivinder Mohan Singh, Executive Vice Chairman with this additional responsibility in the interim.

Shares of Fortis Healthcare were trading 4.44% down at Rs 116.35 per scrip during afternoon session on the BSE.
