The Anti-Corruption Bureau of Rajasthan today informed a special court that it did not detect any financial irregularity in payment by Rajasthan Cricket Academy to a private firm during last year's IPL tournament.
The court was informed that money which was used in the payment was not government money as it belonged to the RCA and also there was no double payment for same work as alleged in the complaint, ACB sources said.
The ACB, had in compliance with the court's order following a complaint, registered a preliminary enquiry (PE) against Union Minister and RCA chairman C P Joshi and others for alleged financial irregularities by the Academy.
It submitted the PE report in the court today.
On April 10, the court while hearing a complaint by one Prem Narayan had given the directions to the ACB to probe allegations and submit a report.
Narayan had alleged illegality in allotment of work contract to a private firm during IPL season 5, wherein a payment of Rs 2.30 crore was said to have been made fraudulently by RCA.
The contract was given for maintenance, housekeeping, catering, field security, assistance in all ground activities, flood lights, personnel for ground, pitches, infrastructures, CCTV equipment and others.
Besides Joshi, the complainant had made allegations against RCA vice-president Vivek Vyas, secretary K K Sharma, RCA office superintendent Manish Joshi and owner of the firm Satish Gopalan.
