Aimed at establishing Telangana as a creative industry hub, the foundation stone for the IMAGE (Innovation in multimedia, animation, gaming and entertainment) Tower was laid here today.
"To make Hyderabad an epicentre of creative industry, the Telangana government today laid the foundation for IMAGE Towers," state IT Minister KT Rama Rao said.
IMAGE Towers will have built up area of 16 lakh square feet and it is being established at a cost of Rs 945 crore in PPP mode. This project will be functional by 2020, Rao said.

To make Hyderabad and Telangana as the most favoured destination for investment in animation, visual effects, gaming and comics (AVGC) sector, Telangana government has launched IMAGE Policy in April 2016, Rao said adding it aims to create a vibrant eco-system comprising of startups, SMES, and global leaders in gaming, animation and VFX sector and training institutes.
"The IMAGE Tower will be a world-class facility which will provide an ideal environment for the animation, visual effects, gaming and comics industry," he said.
According to the Minister, the Telangana government has identified AVGC as a key growth engine for the next level of tech exports and employment generation.
The IMAGE Tower shall provide plug and play spaces, with built-up office space which will be provided at subsidised rates to first generation technocrat entrepreneurs, SMEs engaged in AVGC activities, and consist of support services in the envisaged tower, officials said.
