Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari would soon lay the foundation stone for an eight-lane bridge across Zuari river in Goa, state public works department minister Ramakrishna Dhavalikar said today.
The estimated cost of the project is Rs 2,550 crore.
"The work of this bridge will be undertaken in three phases with each phase costing Rs 850 crore," the minister was quoted as saying by an official release.

He was speaking after unfurling the tricolour at a function organised to celebrate Goa Liberation Day at Kranti Maidan, Ponda.
He said the state government is in the process of setting up better infrastructure facilities in all sectors for development of Goa.
"The commitment given to the people of Ponda and its surrounding areas of providing 24X7 water supply from 28 MLD water project from Opa and 25 MLD water project from Ganjem will be fulfilled from March", he said.
Goa was liberated from 450-year-long Portuguese rule on December 19, 1961 after Indian Army marched in the region. The day is celebrated as State Liberation Day annually.
