Four alleged drug peddlers held

Four persons have been arrested from two different places in the district, for allegedly being involved in drug peddling, the police said today.

The Phagwara Police has also recovered 425 gram intoxicating power and 16 gram heroin from them, a senior police official said.

Pardip Singh of Panshta village and Hardip Singh of Ajnoha village were arrested at a check-post near Maiopatti bend last night, Phagwara Sub-divisional Superintendent of Police (SP) Parminder Singh Bhandal said.

He said 350 gram intoxicating powder and 16 gram heroin were recovered from their possession.

They were arrested under relevant sections of the NDPS Act, Bhandal said.
 

In another case, Vinod Kumar and Deepak Kumar of Bullowal village were arrested at Hadiabad chowk and 75 gram intoxicating powder was recovered from them, he added.
