Four alleged members of a gang of interstate highway robbers were arrested here along with two stolen vehicles, police said today.

The accused were part of a seven-member gang.

They were arrested yesterday while coming from Abohar in two stolen jeeps, police said.

When a police party stopped them at a check-point, the accused failed to produce documents of the jeeps, following which they were arrested.

They have confessed to have committed extortions and 11 robberies, mostly on national highways, in the districts of Muktsar and Bathinda of Punjab and Sirsa and Hisar districts of Haryana.

They were planning more such robberies, police added.
