Ambassadors Eivind S Homme (Norway), Alphonsus Hermanus Maria Stoelinga (the Netherlands), Daniel Peter Othol (Republic of South Sudan) and Lee Joon-gyu (Republic of Korea) presented their credentials to the President, a Rashtrapati Bhavan official spokesperson said.
A Norwegian Embassy release quoted Homme as saying that his focus would be to strengthen bilateral relations, especially on economic front.
"I intend to do my utmost in strengthening our partnership, with a special focus on economic relations and I hope the trade negotiations through EFTA will succeed. This month a Norway-India Business Association will be established, which I hope will help move this agenda forward," Homme said.
About his meeting with Mukherjee, he said the President talked highly about the Indo-Norwegian ties.
"The President advised me to travel around India to get an understanding of the diversity, the strength of national unity and democracy of this vast country. He underlined that when two nations understand each other, it is always possible to find common ground and further expand our cooperation," he said.
Homme also expressed his happiness over the Norway-India Partnership Initiative (NIPI) and Joint Working Groups (JWGs) in the areas of environment, science and technology, hydrocarbons, maritime, local governance, culture and higher education.
