Four persons who allegedly ran a racket of fraudulent EWS quota admissions in prominent schools in the city have been arrested by the Crime Branch of Delhi Police.

The arrested persons include Mukesh, the kingpin of the gang who coordinated with schools and clients for admissions under the Economic Weaker Sections quota in prominent schools, said a senior police officer.

Police has also arrested a Rohini resident Anil Kumar who allegedly worked as a tout, bringing parents seeking admissions on EWS seats in good schools.

The forged documents and other related papers for admission were prepared by two other accused who were residents of Mangolpuri.

Police arrested Sudama Singh and Dharam Singh who provided forged documents that were used by the gang during the admission process, said the officer.

The investigation has been started and the schools have been asked to provide documents related with EWS admissions, he added.

The schools are required to reserve 25 per cent of total seats for admission under the EWS category.
