Four persons have been arrested for allegedly killing a youth and seriously injuring another in Sangam Vihar area of southeast Delhi.

The arrested persons have been identified as Birju Tiwari, Arun, Raju and Rahul, adding that Birju had hatched a plan to kill one Deepak and his friend Ajay.

Deepak and Ajay were brutally beaten up by all four accused with bamboo sticks on April 24 in the forest of Sangam Vihar near Naahari Baja Mandir.

Later, Deepak succumbed to his injuries on April 25 while Ajay, who runs a mobile recharge shop in Dakshinpuri area, also suffered serious injuries.

"Police yesterday arrested Birju Tiwari and later, all three accused - Arun, Raju and Rahul - were also arrested from different locations. All accused have confessed to their crime," said a senior police officer.

Officer also said that during the interrogation, Birju revealed that he used to get his phone recharged from his friend Ajay's shop, adding that Birju also became friendly with Ajay's friend Deepak.

"During investigation, police got to know that Birju's nieces would visit Ajay's shop and get their phones recharged from there. When Birju came to know about Ajay and Deepak's intimacy with his nieces, he then made a plan along with his friends to kill Deepak and Ajay," officer said.

He added that on April 24, Birju along with Arun called Ajay and Deepak in the jungle area behind Naahari Baja Mandir on the pretext of having a party.

"Birju's friends Raju and Rahul were also present there. When both Ajay and Deepak reached there, all accused started beating them up with bamboo sticks and removed all their clothes, mobile phone and purse, so that they could not be identified," officer further added.
