Rakesh Kranti was attacked by a group of four persons on December 16 night when he was returning from his duty.

In the attack, Kranti sustained injuries on arms, legs and had to be hospitalised and operated upon.

Hisar SP, B Satheesh Balan told media-persons that the reporter had published a news about nexus between some private doctors and ambulance owners.

"Infuriated over the news report Anil, a chemist, who owns two ambulance vehicles, and his accomplices, hatched a plan to attack the reporter.

A day prior to the incident, the accused damaged Kranti's car so that he had to go to office on motorcycle making it possible to stop him easily and attack him," the SP said.

Besides Anil, the other arrested persons were identified as Prince, Sonu and Sheelu, all from Hisar, he said.

A case under relevant sections of the IPC has been registered against the accused, the police official said.
