Four arrested in Red Panda skin smuggling in Nepal

Four Nepalese were today arrested here for allegedly trying to smuggle skin of a Red Panda, an endangered animal found in the Nepal Himalayas.

Acting on tip off, a special team of Kathmandu Metropolitan Circle police nabbed the smugglers during a raid at a guest house at Gaushala near the Pashupatinath temple, police said.

The accused were caught red-handed while trading the skin, police said. The skin has been recovered from their possession, they said.

Legal action has been initiated against them in the court, police said.
