Four persons were today arrested for allegedly assaulting the driver of a Kashmir-bound oil tanker a few days ago on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, police said.
The driver identified as Farooq Ahmed was beaten by six people near Nandani area on the national highway on November 21, a police officer said.
Ahmed who was injured in the assault was first shifted to Primary Health Centre Dansal from where he was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu for specialized treatment, the official said.

This seems to be a case of road rage in which the accused came in two vehicles and stared beating Farooq, he said.
A case was registered by the police following which the investigation was launched and four accused identified as Sanjeev Kumar, Rajinder Singh, Sumit Sharma and Ranjeet Singh were arrested.
He said efforts were on to nab the other two accused who are still absconding.
