Four arrested in trafficking case

CBI today arrested four persons in connection with the case relating to trafficking of people, to gulf using fake passports through Nedumbassery airport.

This is the first arrest by the probe agency after it took over investigations in the case, CBI sources said.

The case was earlier probed by local crime branch.

Four cases have been registered so far in the human trafficking case and chargesheet has been filed against seven accused in one of the cases in which a Sub Inspector and civil police officer, at the airport are among the accused.

Women were also taken to the gulf using fake passports and forced into prostitution.
