Four auto thieves arrested

Police today claimed to have busted a gang of auto thieves with the arrest of four persons and the recovery of 12 stolen cars.

Mohit, Sumit, Rupesh and Ranjit, who were active in the NCR, were arrested in sector 37 here last night, Circle Officer Shiv Ram Yadav said.

On their instance, 12 stolen cars were recovered, he said.

During interrogation, the accused claimed that they were member of a gang involved in stealing cars and later sold the vehicles to liquor mafias, according to police.

The recovered cars were stolen by them from Indirapuram, Delhi's Jamia Nagar and Noida areas.
 

Ranjit was also an arms dealer who sold country made pistol in NCR, police said.

The accused also told police that they used to sell a stolen car to liquor mafias for Rs 30,000 to Rs 40,000.
