Four burglars arrested in Kashmir

Jammu and Kashmir police today claimed to have busted a gang of burglars by arresting four persons involved in committing thefts in several areas of Budgam district and local trains.

Gowhar Ahmad Wani and Muzaffar Ahmad Khan, both residents of Parnewa village of Budgam district, and Shahzad Ahmad Dar and Asif Ahmad Wani of Bandipora district were arrested by a special team of Budgam police, police said.

Interrogation of the four burglars led to the recovery of stolen items worth lakhs of rupees including 13 golden rings, two golden ear rings, a golden chain, two silver bangles, a necklace, a wrist watch and 17 mobile phones from different parts of the Valley.
 

In addition, 24 airtel tower batteries were also recovered at their instances from Sopore area of Baramulla district, police said.

The gang was involved in many cases of house breaking in Hyderpora, Peerbagh, Humhama, Ompora, Beerwah and Budgam, police said.

They were also involved in committing burglaries in trains and shops.
