This was disclosed by Minister of State for Home Affairs Mullappally Ramachandran through a written reply in Lok Sabha.
There were no cases of contract killing in 2009 and 2010, he said.
Till November 15 this year, two cases of contract killing were reported and seven persons were arrested in this connection. Last year, two cases were registered and four persons were arrested.
Preventive measures were being taken to tackle such cases by deploying sources, collecting intelligence, search for illegal weapons, checking vehicles and intensifying patrolling, he said.
