Four criminals nabbed after encounter

Two wanted criminals and two of their associates have been arrested after an encounter here, police said today.

Acting on a tip-off, police challanged Harendra Rana and his associates on Sachin Tendulkar road in the city last night and asked them to surrender.

However, Rana and his gang members started firing following which the police retaliated. In the firing, Rana and Manish Koli were injured.

Later, police caught both of them along with two others- Vikram Rana and Akash Jaat.

Harendra Rana is wanted in connection with sveral murder cases in UP and MP. He had come to Gwalior with his associates with an intention to kill a person in Mohanpura village, police said.
 

Harendra is involved in various murder cases in Gwalior, Agra, Mathura, Ghaziabad and Noida, police added.

Gwalior and Chambal region police had announced a reward of Rs 15,000 each on Rana, while UP Police had also declared an award of Rs 12,000 against him.

Besides, Madhya Pradesh Police had also announced a reward of Rs 15,000 on Manish Koli.

Interrogation of the four is on, police said.
