A four-day annual meeting of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh's (RSS) regional pracharaks began here today. Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat will be guiding the pracharaks during the meeting.

As many as 136 prant (state) level leaders from 35 prants of the three states of Gujarat, Maharashtra and Goa attended the meeting today.

"The meeting began with flag salutation and then the work of reviewing the past work and plan for future were taken up," RSS western region head Jayanti Bhadesiya told PTI.

On Sunday, the meeting will be attended by lower and village level pracharaks from 35 prants to discuss on how to strengthen organisation at ground level, he said.

"Log Sangh mein bahut adhik ruchi dikha rahe hain (People are taking a lot of interest in Sangh's activities). The meeting will also discuss on how to 'accommodate' the rising number of Sangh members," Bhadesiya added.

The Sangh denied that the meeting has anything to do with Assembly election scheduled in 2017 and termed the meeting a routine affair.
