Four dead in two accidents in Vizag district

Four persons were killed in two separate road-accidents in the district today.

Two persons died and eight others were injured when a private bus in which they were travelling hit a lorry while trying to overtake on the NH-16 at Atchutapuram village in the district.

The deceased were identified as N Appalaraju (30), native of Srikakulam, and assistant bus driver S Manikanta (28), native of Vijayawada.

Sub-inspector M Srinivasa Rao of Kasimkota police station said the bus was heading towards Srikakulam from Guntur and the accident took place at around 5 am.

The injured passengers were admitted to the government hospital at Anakapalle. Police have registered a case against the bus driver and investigation is on.
 

In another road accident on the ghat-road near Bichupuram villae in Vizag Agency, two persons died on the spot when their bike skidded this morning.

The deceased were identified as Samarada Laikon (28) and Killo Damodar (35), both from Baski in Araku Valley mandal.

Sub-inspector P Dhanunjaya Naidu of Ananthagiri police station said Laikon who was riding the bike lost control around a sharp curve and it skidded. Both died of severe head injuries.
