Four deer died in the zoo here in the last two days, officials said today.

The four deer, aged between 12 to 15 years, died of illness, Director of the zoo K Thomas said today.

The post-mortem report had confirmed that the death was natural and caused due to failure in respiratory system, Thomas said.

Last year, 38 black bucks had fallen prey to wild dogs in the zoo, which led to massive hue and cry and suspension of some zoo employees.
