Four die in fog-related mishap

Four people were killed in a road accident caused by dense fog in Auraiya district even as light to moderate rain or thundershower occurred at some places in the state in the last 24 hours.

Four people were killed when the car they were travelling in plunged into a canal in Auraiya district as dense fog marred visibility last night, police said.

Met office here said that moderate to dense fog occurred at few places over the state while dense to very dense fog occurred at isolated places over the state.

Chief amount of rainfall in cms are: Ghorawal, Dudhi, Robertganj, Churk-2 each, Ballia, Allahabad, Lucknow, Kanpur,Muzaffarnagar, Kalpi, Gyanpur, Haidergarh-1 each.
 

Meanwhile, night temperatures rose in Faizabad, Lucknow divisions, and fell in Meerut division and changed slightly in remaining divisions over the state.

The temperature was markedly above normal in Allahabad division, appreciably above normal in Varanasi, Faizabad divisions, above normal in Lucknow, Agra divisions and were normal in the remaining divisions in the state.

Lowest minimum temperature over the state was 4.2 degree celsius recorded at Nazibabad.

The weather office has forecast possibility of dry weather over the state even as moderate to dense fog is very likely at few places.

It also warned that dense to very dense fog is likely to occur at isolated places in the state.
