Four die in rain-related incidents in UP

Four people were killed in rain-related incidents in Uttar Pradesh even as the moderate to heavy rainfall or thundershowers occurred at isolated places in the state.

Official reports reaching here said that lightning claimed two lives in Azamgarh and two in Barabanki in incidents of lightning and house collapse.

Met office sources said that chief amount of rainfall recorded in cms are Katerniaghat-9 , Akbarpur, Regoli, -7 each, Amethi, Haidergarh and Pharenda -6 each.

The department officials forecast rain and thundershowers would occur at many places over the state in the next 24 hours.

According to Central Water Commission, Quano river was still flowing above the red mark at Chandradeepghat (Gonda) and Mukhlispur (Sant Kabirnagar) though it was now receding.
 

River Sharda continued to flow above the danger level at Palia Kalan where it was also rising and Ghaghra was once again on the surge at Elgin Bridge rising above the red mark.
