Four die in scrub typhus infection in Mizoram

At least four people died due to scrub typhus infection in Mizoram during 2017-2018, Health Minister Lal Thanzara today informed the state Assembly.

In a written reply to a question from Dr K Beichhua of the Mizo National Front (MNF) Lal Thanzara said that three people died due to the scrub typhus infection in Aizawl district, while another one died in Mizoram-Tripura-Bangladesh border Mamit district.

He said that 540 people were found to be infected with the scrub typhus.
