Four DJB officials arrested for accepting bribe to pass bills

Four Delhi Jal Board (DJB) officials have been arrested by the Anti Corruption Branch of the city government for allegedly demanding bribe from owners of water tankers to clear their pending bills for supplying the civic body's water to villages and colonies.

Ramesh, Harish, Umesh Sharma and Qamar Raza were arrested after the complainant conducted a sting operation in which they were caught on camera accepting bribe to expedite the process of passing the bills.

Based on the sting operation an FIR under section 13(1)(d) of Prevention of Corruption Act and section 120B (criminal conspiracy) of IPC was registered and investigation was taken up, the ACB said.
 

The four were arrested in the course of the investigation and further probe was on, it said.
