Four hard-core NDFB-Songbijit militants, two of them involved in the December 23 last massacre, were apprehended during a joint Assam Rifle and police operation in Assam's Sonitpur district along Arunachal Pradesh, police said.
After a two day operation, the security forces cordoned off the jungles and nabbed the four last night along with a 7.65 mm pistol with two magazines of AK series rifles and 30 rounds of AK ammunition, said Biswanath Chariali police district SP M D Ray today.
Two of the extremists Brim Basumatary alias Belashi and Superior Basumatary alias Maniraj were involved in the massacre of over 80 Adivasis, Ray said.
The two others were identified as Pohar Narzary and Pratim Daimary and all four are Myanmar trained 39th batch under NDFB leader I K Songbijit, he added.
