Four held, arms recovered

A gang of four members was today arrested from the crowded new Central Bus Stand (CBS) here this evening and a country-made pistol and a live cartridge were recovered from them, a senior police officer said.

The action was taken based on a tip-off, which alerted the police that four persons would be coming to the CBS to sell arms.

"Following the tip-off, personnel of crime branch and Sarkarwada police station rushed to the CBS. The gang members were nabbed and firearms were recovered from them. They were later arrested," Assistant Commissioner of Police (Crime) Sachin Gore said.

The arrested accused have been identified as Manoj Raju Patil (31), Rahul Mudliyar (33), Lakhan Dilip Kankate (27) and Sachin Balasaheb Salve (35).
 

A case has been registered against them at Sarkarwada police station.
