Four persons were arrested here for attacking a 21-year-old man with a knife, after he reprimanded them for speaking loudly, police said today.
The accused Devan, Sasikumar, Parthiban and Raju had allegedly attacked Haris, who was on a visit to his relatives' house, last night at Puliyanthope area following an altercation that broke out after he asked them not to speak loudly.
Haris was rushed to the government hospital and the four were apprehended based on a complaint from the victim's mother, a city police release said.

They were later remanded to custody.
Meanwhile, in another incident, a 33 year-old man was arrested for allegedly possessing 600 gms of ganja, in Pallikaranai here.
Velu was arrested last night by a police team, which found his activities to be suspicious, it said.
