Four persons were arrested today at nearby Puttur for illegal possession of diamonds, police said.
The diamonds were seized when police, acting on a tip-off, intercepted the car in which the four persons were travelling at Santyar near Puttur.
The arrested were identified as Ajmal Pasha (23), Abdul Shakur (24), Yusuf (24) and Azeez(43), they said.
On interrogation, they confessed to have brought the diamonds from Mysore to be sold to a person from Chitradurga.
The diamonds would be sent to a laboratory to check for its genuineness, police said.
The arrested were produced before a court and remanded to judicial custody.
