Four held for murder, dacoity in Ghaziabad

Four robbers have been arrested for gunning down a 50-year-old tea stall owner and robbing a poultry farm owner here.

On a tip-off, Loni Kotwali police arrested the four robbers - Afaq, son of a former councillor, Aamir, Nadim and Imran - yesterday around 6 pm from Banthala railway crossing, SHO Avdhesh Partap Singh said.

The incident happened on July 1 when eight masked robbers looted Rs 2.5 lakh from poultry farm owner Kamman Quareshi, 50, and his accountants Imran, Wasim, Farooq and Gullu while they were making payments to their suppliers at Tyagi Market in the city, he said.
 

The robbers also shot dead a tea stall owner identified as Babu before fleeing from the spot, the SHO said.

Four robbers have been arrested but the remaining four are at large, he added.

An FIR was registered under relevant sections of the IPC, he said, adding, efforts were on to nab the remaining accused.
