Four held for thrashing women cops

Four persons were today arrested for allegedly thrashing women cops and creating nuisance at a police station here, police said.

Six persons had gone to the Nijampura police station yesterday to enquire about status of a complaint, they had registered, said Thane Police Public Relations Officer Sukhada Narkar.

"At the police station they created ruckus and abused two women police personnel, who were on duty. Some of the accused also thrashed the two personnel, including an officer" the PRO said quoting the complaint filed by the woman police officer.

"We have apprehended four accused, while efforts are on to nab the other two," Narkar said, adding a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code was registered.
