Four held for transporting fake currency worth Rs 6.80 lakh

Four passengers were arrested allegedly with fake currency estimated at Rs 6.8 lakh at Vadodara railway station today, police said.

The accused, who boarded the Ahmedabad-bound Howrah Express at Malda in West Bengal, were apprehended as soon as they got down at Vadodara, they said.

"On a tip-off, we checked their luggage and recovered counterfeit currency of Rs 6.80 lakh with face value of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000," said RPF Inspector B N Vaghela.
