Four alleged smugglers were arrested today and 334 gram of heroin, pegged worth Rs 1.67 crore in the market, was seized from their possession in Bihar's Kishanganj district, security officials said.
Acting on a tip off, Sashashtra Seema Bal (SSB) in a joint operation with the local police stopped the vehicle carrying the smugglers on a bridge over Mahananda river and found the heroin while searching it, SSB Commandant Ajay Kumar said.
The heroin was valued at Rs 1.67 crore in international market and was being smuggled from West Bengal to Nepal via Kishanganj, he said, adding the SSB constituted a special joint team for the operation after getting the inputs.
