Four hospitalised after drinking spurious liquor

Four persons were today admitted to the civil hospital in Ahmedabad's Sola area after their condition deteriorated due to suspected consumption of spurious country-made liquor, police said.

While two of them were later shifted to the main civil hospital in Asarwa area of the city, as many others still remain admitted in the Sola civil hospital, said an official of the city police control room.

While top police officials have rushed to the Sola hospital, raids were being conducted in different parts of the city to nab bootleggers following the incident, according to the official.

Sola Civil Hospital Medical Superintendent Ajesh Desai said the condition of the admitted persons is not "too serious".

 

While talking to reporters from Sola civil hospital, two patients claimed that they had consumed liquor yesterday at a place in Sola, following which their condition deteriorated this morning.
