Additional District and Sessions Judge Third Court of Naida Anjali Sinha convicted and sentenced Shyamal Bhattacharjee, Sanjit Biswas, Madhukul Mondal and Tapai Ghosh.
Shyamal Bhattacharjee was the former president of Dharmada Local Committee of Trinamool Congress in Nakashipara.
The body of the minor girl, a student of class VI was found in a bamboo bush near her home on the night of July 25, 2009.
Kallol Khan, the Trinamool MLA of Nakashipara said "Shyamal Bhattacharjee was former president of our Dharmada Local Committee and alleged that CPIM, which had been in power at the time of murder entangled him in the minor murder. Then we removed him from his position but he has been working as our active worker."
