Four including woman convicted in gangrape case of minor

Three persons were today awarded life imprisonment in a 2008 gangrape case of a 16-year-old girl by a fast track court here while a woman accomplice who lured the victim was sentenced to 10 years.

Fast track court judge Rajiv Bhardwaj also imposed a fine of Rs 9500 each on accused Inam, Naushad and Aan Mohammad after holding them guilty under sections 363, 366 and 376 of IPC. The court further ordered them to pay a compensation amount of Rs 25000 to the victim.

Kavita, the fourth accused, was convicted for abducting the girl.

According to government lawyer Inam Tyagi, the girl was abducted and gangraped at Bhari village in the district on January 3, 2008.
 

Police had registered a case against the four accused under section 363, 366 and 376 of IPC in this connection. The girl was later rescued.
