Four injured in clash during victory rally

Four persons were injured in a clash between two groups during a victory rally of a candidate in district Panchayat polls here, police said today.

The incident took place at Atkulheri village under Charthawal police station yesterday after one Zuber was declared a winner in the election held on October 29, SHO Anand Mishra said.

Supporters of loosing candidate, Saleem, started pelting stones at opponents during Zuber's victory rally, leaving four injured, Mishra said.

The injured--Noruddin, Gulbahar, Nauman and Mukammil have been admitted to hospital and their condition is stated to be stable, he said.

Police have registered a case against 100 unidentified persons this connection, the SHO said.
