Four persons were injured when a grenade exploded at a shop in Uripok area on the outskirts of Imphal town, police said today.

Suspected militants lobbed the grenade at the shop late last night injuring the four, including the shop owner identified as Subhas Singh, the police said.

The four persons were immediately rushed to Regional Institute of Medical Science and Hospital.

The motive behind the attack was not known but monetary demand from the shop owners apparently led to the incident.
