Four kickboxers and one coach from Sikkim will represent India at the WAKO world kickboxing championship 2017 to be held at Budapest, Hungary from November 3-12.
The selection is based on results of national kickboxing championship held at Raipur, Chhattisgarh last month.
Bidhan Ballav Subba, chief technical director of Sikkim Association Kickboxing Organisation (SAKO) has been picked as the Indian team coach for the World Championship, Information and Public Relations Department (IPR) officials said.
The local kickboxers selected in the national team are - Sushmita Rai, Phurba Sherpa, Hem Kumari Rai and Anil Subba, they said.
