Four persons, including three women, were today killed and 12 others injured when the car in which they were travelling collided with a roadside tree and turned turtle near Pennagaram here, police said.
The accident occurred when the car's left rear wheel burst, they said.
The victims, all belonging to one family, were going to Hogennakkal to attend a funeral, they said.
The injured, including six children, were admitted to the Government hospital here and are out of danger, hospital sources said.
Tamil Nadu Higher Education Minister P Palaniyappan visited the injured at the hospital.
