Four persons were killed as a four-wheeler in which they were travelling overturned and fell in to a ditch on NH-110 in Bihar's Jehanabad district, police said today.
The mishap occurred in Jahangirpur village last night as the driver of the ill-fated SUV with six occupants lost control and the vehicle fell in the ditch, sources said, adding four persons identified as Ramadhar Sharma (50), his wife Malti Devi (40), sister in-law Neelam Devi (35) and nephew Raunak Kumar (9) died on the spot, while two others escaped unhurt.
The bodies have been sent for post-mortem, they said.
The vehicle has been impounded even as the driver escaped from the spot, police said.
