Four killed, five injured in Gujarat road mishap

At least four persons, three of them women, were killed and five injured in a road accident on the city's outskirts today, police said.

The mishap took place near a bridge at Poicha village when a dumper truck crashed into a stationary tractor.

R A Parel, Police Sub-Inspector, said the deceased and the injured were travelling in a tractor and were on way to their native Paldi village in Kaira district after attending a social function.

The tractor carrying them stopped near a bridge at Poicha village when a speeding dumper came from behind and collided with it. Four persons were killed on the spot and five others injured, Patel said.
 

The dumper driver fled from the scene, he added.
