Four killed in house collapse

Four members of a family were killed when their house collapsed after swollen waters of Panchane river entered its premises in Bihar's Nalanda district today, police said.

The incident took place in Sohsarai market as the three-storied house collapsed burying alive four family members under its debris soon after flood water of swollen Panchane river entered in its premise, Sohsarai police station in-charge Chandra Srivastava said.

The victims were identified as Hanshmukh Kumari (16), Khushboo Kumari (21), Shobhi Devi (22) and Kushi Kumari (2), he said, adding the bodies have been taken out from debris and sent for post-mortem.

The deceased persons were living on the ground floor of the house, the police officer said, adding the other people staying on other two floors had moved out to safety before tragedy struck.
