Four killed in rain-related mishaps in Rajasthan

Four persons, including a minor, were killed in various incidents of lightening strike as unseasonal rain and hailstorm lashed Rajasthan.

In Rajsamand district, two sisters, Hemlata (23) and Sanju (25) were killed at a farm when lightening struck them while in Tonk district at Surajpura village, Lekhraj Gujar, who was grazing cattle was killed along with five goats, police said.

In another incident, Bhagwan Singh (14) was killed and two other children sustained burn injuries when they were struck by lightening while they were playing in the open in Kanpura village in Ajmer, they said.

According to MeT department, Ramgarh in Alwar recorded 3 cm rain while Govindgarh, Abu Road, Ramgarh-Shekhawati, Beawar recorded 2 cm each and many other places recorded 1 cm rains till this morning since yesterday.
 

Many other places also recorded rains till this evening. Hailstorm also occured at a few places, it said, adding, as a result both the day and night temperatures dipped by a few notches.

The unseasonal rain and hailstorm damaged crops and agriculture produce in some parts of the desert state.

The MeT department has predicted rainfall and hailstorm at few places in the state during next 24 hours.
