Four killed in road accident in Ferozepur

Four persons, including a toddler, were killed and three others sustained injuries when their car collided with an oncoming bus near Harike headworks here today, police said.

"The accident occurred at around 8.30 AM when the driver of the car was trying to overtake a vehicle and collided with the bus coming from the opposite direction," SHO (Makhu) Jaswinder Singh said.

Police said the incident may have occurred due to dense fog.

An Amritsar-based family was travelling to Ludhiana in the car, Singh said.

"The deceased were identified as Harpreet Singh (30), his wife Gagandeep Kaur (30), their one-and-a-half-year-old child Sehajdeep Singh and one Sukhwinder Singh," he said.
 

"Three others, who sustained serious injuries were identified as Gurpreet, Sushil Kumar and Jagjeet Singh," he said.

The injured were admitted to Faridkot hospital, Singh said.
