Four killed in road mishaps in AP

On the intervening night of December 31 and January 1, three engineering students, who were riding a motor-bike, were hit by a car on a road Banjara Hills, in which all three of them died on the spot.

The deceased were identified as Vikhyath Rao, Shravan Reddy and Abuji Harish (all aged between 20 and 21 years), police said.

In another incident, driver of a municipal vehicle Janardhan dashed his vehicle against a tree on R P Road in Secunderabad and died on the spot while the cleaner Narsimha was injured in the incident.

In yet another case reported at Petlaburj area on the intervening night of December 31 and January 1, one Ganesh, sustained fracture on his left leg after he dashed his bike against a motorcycle, police said.

 

On the eve of New Year, Hyderabad Police booked 1,034 enforcement cases under Hyderabad City Police Act and Motor Vehicle Act while the traffic wing of Hyderabad Police registered as many as 191 cases of drunken driving.
