Four killed in separate mishaps in UP

Four persons were killed and 14 others injured in two separate road accidents in the state, police said today.

In the first mishap which happened in Narhi area of Ballia, two persons were killed and another injured when a tempo collided with a bike.

The incident took place in Lakshmanpur village last night when Vipul Rai (24), who was travelling on his bike, was hit by a tempo.

Rai and the other vehicle's driver Suraj Yadav (24) were both killed.

One Atul Rai who was riding pillion on the bike was seriously injured in the accident.

Police have sent the bodies of victims for post-mortem.
 

In the other incident, two persons were killed and 13 others injured when a truck collided with a tempo in Bindki area of Banda district, police said.

The incident took place last night. One Jagdei (45) and an unidentified elderly person, who were travelling on the tempo, were killed on the spot.

The injured have been rushed to hospital, where the condition of six was stated to be serious.

Police have seized the truck, while its driver is absconding.
