The mishap took place in Gorantla mandal where a van packed with passengers was hit by a lorry coming from Bangalore and proceeding towards Anantapur, they said.
Four persons, including two women, died on the spot. The injured were shifted to a hospital in Penukonda town where two of them are in critical condition, police said.
