Four killed, six injured in lightning in Odisha

At least four persons, including three women, were killed and six others, three of them children, injured in lightning incidents in Odisha's Mayurbhanj district today.

Three women labourers died when lightning struck them while they were working in a paddy field at Tikarapada village under Baripada Sadar police station area, police said.

In another incident, a farm labourer was killed in lightning when he was working in the field at Raghunathganj village in Baripada town police station limit, they said.

Six persons, including three children, were injured when an anganwadi centre was hit by lightning at Tikapada village under Rasgobindpur police station jurisdiction in the district.
 

The injured were shifted to the local hospital for treatment, the police said.
